for World Yoga Day, on 21 June! 

World Yoga Day – or International Day of Yoga – is celebrated every year on 21 June. The date was set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, as a way to recognise the positive effects of yoga on health and general well-being.
 
On this occasion, countless events are held around the world, ranging from yoga classes in public parks to online courses and workshops on mindfulness and conscious living. This day unites millions of people from all over the world, crossing geographical and cultural boundaries in the spirit of global well-being, connectedness and peaceful coexistence.  The date of 21 June was not a random choice: as the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, it symbolises light and renewal. It is the ideal time to sow the seeds of change through positive thought and good intentions. According to Indian mythology, the summer solstice is also the day when the Hindu deity Shiva began to pass on the principles of yoga to humans.  Since the introduction of World Yoga Day, this discipline has gained momentum. People who practise yoga regularly soon find that they not only feel healthier and fitter, but they also achieve a calmer, more balanced state overall. Many wish to continue their practice even on holiday and use their time off as an opportunity to delve even deeper into the world of yoga.
