Food & Wine Experience at the Tenuta Sanoner
Tastings and cooking classes

If you think about Tuscany you think about excellent wines, genuine cuisine and rich flavours, as result of a long history and centuries-old traditions. That is why we offer our guests at the ADLER Spa Resort THERMAE the opportunity to enjoy unique taste experiences on the enchanting panoramic terrace of our winery Tenuta Sanoner.

Guests are encouraged to take part in themes tastings and cooking classes to get to know not only our products but also the local dishes. The themed tastings accompany our classic tastings, but only at certain times of the year. This is why they are particularly popular. The stars are wild asparagus and spontaneous herbs, gifts of nature that begin to appear in the meadows and woods of the Val d'Orcia in early spring. Real delicacies turned into appetizers that we are pleased to serve with the right selection of our wines. Before you enjoy the perfect combination of wild asparagus and wine, you will have the opportunity to harvest these tasty shoots on a hike with our expert guides who know all the secrets of this area. You'll love the asparagus even more if you picked them yourself!

For the cooking classes, our winery is open all year round. Anna Tigrato welcomes guests to the ADLER Spa Resort THERMAE every Tuesday. Anna is not only a wonderful cook, she also spreads her passion for cooking to all those around her. "Cooking is fun, it turns you creative and a teamworker," she says.

The menu varies according to the season, but there is no shortage of classic Tuscan dishes, such as pici, a sort of thicker spaghetti, which can be dressed in thousand different ways. We make them by hand using the best local ingredients: the flour for the dough comes from the ancient grains of the Val d'Orcia mill, just a few kilometres away, and the olive oil comes directly from our estate.

In the kitchen we all work together. We prepare the necessary ingredients, roll out the dough into loaves and bake the cantucci, which are usually served as dessert. Following Anna's instructions step by step, we create a tasty 3-course menu: starter, main course and dessert. Before everyone take a seat to enjoy the result of the fun teamwork, there is time to toast with our Aetos Sparkling wine, visit the winery and discover the secrets of organic and biodynamic viticulture.

Taking part in our courses, everyone can learn how to prepare a range of tasty treats to surprise family and friends at home with delicious traditional Tuscan dishes.
