In 2022, the ADLER Lodge ALPE starts a new project with a sustainable initiative aiming to preserve the surrounding natural environment. We already had this idea in mind for quite a while now, and today we won’t wait any longer. Due to the constant natural disasters, we are finally happy to announce a new ongoing project with the support of our guests.
Not only humans appreciate the forest as a recreational area, supplier of raw materials and as a so-called "life insurance" against avalanches, mudflows and floods. For countless species of animals, plants and fungi, the forest is the habitat that provides them with food and shelter.
Woods contribute also to the protection of the soil, water and climate as well as to the control of air pollution. The aim is to preserve forests, protecting and treating them in a sustainable way.
Especially during the storm Vaia in October 2018, many forests were destroyed. Wind peaks of up to 200 km/h hit South Tyrol. Fortunately, the area around the Alpe di Siusi was not badly affected by the gusts of wind, but there are still some areas very close to ADLER Lodge ALPE where many trees were seriously damaged. We often asked ourselves how we could help nature to recover as quickly as possible.
As special highlight for our very loyal guests, who have stayed at our Lodge already 15 times, we plant a small larch tree together. This little tree will stand for growth, strength, endurance, resistance and fertility – a piece of future to avoid climate change.
Doing something good for nature, marvelling at the growth and flourishing of your own tree during future stays on the Alpe di Siusi, will make every of your visit even more special.
Nature offers many marvels, but a tree that builds up new layers year by year within its trunk, is something very special. We believe that together with our guests we can make a valuable contribution to nature, according to the motto: "When we plant trees, we plant seeds of peace and seeds of hope”.
